Meet the Spring Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Spring

We’re a small crew by design. Adrian started this company in 2014 doing commercial access-control work, and he’s kept the same rule since day one: hire people who actually like gates, not people who just need a job. The four of us handle every call that comes into Spring, from a sagging driveway gate in Gleannloch Farms to a failed opener on a ranch entrance off Rayford Road. We’re background-checked, we show up in uniform, and you’ll know our names before we ever set foot on your property. Most of us have been doing this long enough that we’ve seen the same gate outlive two marriages.

Our People

Adrian Vance, Owner

Adrian started in commercial access control in 2014, running wiring diagrams on sites where a gate failure meant a security breach, not just an inconvenience. He still pulls the on-call phone himself at night, which is why a live person answers at (346) 488-1637 no matter when you call. His specialty is diagnostics: he’s the guy who finds the limit switch set 12 degrees past travel when two other companies already recommended a full motor replacement. Off the clock, he restores old tube amplifiers and has a running bet with his wife about how many more years their 2006 F-250 will survive.

Ray M., Lead Technician

Ray has been with Vance for seven years and handles the heavy repair work, which means he’s the one under the gate doing torsion spring replacements and welding cracked hinges back into alignment. He’s certified on LiftMaster, FAAC, and BFT systems, and he can tell you what’s wrong with a Viking opener by hearing it run once. Ray lives in Spring proper and has a habit of naming every gate he fixes after a country singer. Ask him about the Loretta Lynn job off Aldine Westfield and he’ll tell you the whole story while he works.

Dana P., Senior Installer

Dana came to us from a landscape construction crew and brought a useful obsession: making sure a new gate sits square with the grade, because she’s seen what northeast Harris County clay does to a post that wasn’t set deep enough. She handles most of our full gate installations and operator retrofits, and she’s the one who double-checks every photo-eye alignment before a job is closed out. Dana grew up in Conroe and commutes with a dog in the passenger seat. The dog has strong opinions about gate hinges.

Chris T., Service Coordinator

Chris is the voice on the phone and the person who makes sure the parts truck actually has the right capacitor when Ray needs it at 9 p.m. He keeps the job records organized, which matters here because every visit leaves a documented photo log and a written record of every part number installed. Chris started as an apprentice with Adrian on commercial sites, moved into the office after a shoulder injury, and still occasionally misdiagnoses a gate over the phone just to annoy Ray. He’s usually right about half the time, which is better than most.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The thing that keeps this crew coherent across every Spring job, from a two-hundred-pound wrought iron driveway gate to a light commercial slide gate on a storage lot, is a stubborn set of habits that Adrian built when he was the only employee and still enforces now that he isn’t. Every job gets a written price before any work starts. Every visit leaves a photo log: what was found, what was adjusted, what was replaced. Every repair is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise, which means if our work isn’t right a year later, we come back and make it right at no charge. No argument, no prorated wiggle room, no “that part’s not covered.” That standard is why the crew stays small. Vance Gate Repair serves Spring and the surrounding communities across the north Houston side, and we’d rather run fewer trucks well than run a fleet that can’t keep its promises.

If you’ve got a gate that’s grinding, sagging, or simply not opening, call (346) 488-1637. You’ll get a live person, a straight answer, and a written price before we touch a single bolt. If you already have a written estimate from another company, bring it in and we’ll review it at no cost. That’s just how we work here.
